Spring is in the air !
This is our second weekly blog since we formally opened for business and we have had quite a few inquiries for reservations, so a promising start to the new year !
The weather in Almora has been spectacular with daytime high temperatures in the low 20's Centigrade and nighttime lows in the single digits (70's F and the lows in the 40's F for my U.S. family and friends). The red poppy blooms, the yellow and orange nasturtiums, the bright yellow calendulas as well as the green buds of the Hydrangeas and the white apricot blooms all herald the start of Spring ! (Basant Panchami was a few days ago)We have had a very dry winter so no snow or rain ( I'm quite happy to see the snow around our house in Boulder Colorado, courtesy of my wife, from a safe distance). Unfortunately the doob or Bermuda grass lawn is still mostly yellow. Apparently this requires a ground temperature of 10 C.(50+ F.) and higher to turn green so I suppose one has to be patient. Our long term goal is to make Magnolia Lodge a Nature Sanctuary so this is an invitation to all of you nature lovers to take note and pay us a visit !
The access to Magnolia lodge may be a little tricky for first time visitors and we will be putting up conveniently placed road signs to guide you as well as Google map guides on our website -www.themagnolialodge.com.
That's all for this week, stay strong and healthy, and take care all of you adventurous travellers out there. Till next week from the Magnolia Lodge, Almora.
P.S: While we hope to make our blogs weekly please bear with us as they may be spread out specially when one of us is travelling.
